Rick found a carving group here that meets once a week. He misses the camaraderie of the ‘home base’ group…so that was a nice surprise. AND I got a library card at the Springfield Library. It’s beginning to feel a lot like home! I simply love ‘nesting’ all over the United States…everyplace has something unique and wonderful to offer.
This statue is outside the library. Someone told me it caused an ‘uproar’ when it was unveiled. There were people that just did NOT want a statue of a man with a bird on his toe…balancing on a rhino outside their library! I had to laugh…It seems to me if there is ever a place where soaring imagination belongs…it’s at a library.
Perhaps a child could explain it to them…
