Today we ‘stretched our legs’ at Island Park. It was sunny and spring is bursting out all around us. White and pink Dogwood trees in bloom.
While I was photographing these goslings there was a fellow just standing there watching me very closely.
After I went over and sat down on a bench he came over and said a ‘mama’ had chased him and given him a couple of ‘painful nips’ several days ago. He was waiting to see the same thing happen to me!
I’ve photographed a lot of wildlife over the years and you learn to respect the distance that they are comfortable in being approached. And you watch for the signs that they are becoming ‘stressed’ and you back off immediately! I was standing still and letting this goose and her kiddies amble toward me…not the other way around.
