Buellton, CA

Solvang is only a couple miles from here…. so we poked around there for several hours. They have such pretty shops. A lot of tourist stuff but also a lot of neat things that you never see anywhere else. Rick spotted a sock monkey to go with our ” Hilga” so now she will have a brother named Sven! And best of all a tiny baby sock monkey! A whole FAMILY! I am just having SO much fun in my second childhood!

We had lunch out on a patio…surrounded by flowers and somewhere near by was a bubble machine that was filling the air with iridescent rainbow bubbles. The children would laugh and chase after them. They have a horse drawn tram that would amble by from time to time. So colorful…a perfect people-watching place. AND the Danish pastries…well, that has to be tasted to be believed.

The flower fields in Lompoc are in bloom. We took a walk through fields of Sweet Peas, as far as the eye could see. Heaven must smell like this!

Carol and Bruce from next door stopped by…they are going to be spending the night at a local ranch and wanted us to keep an eye on the RV. It always amazes me how quickly you meet folks ‘on the road’. And how friendly they tend to be.

The other people parked next to us come over to chat. They gave us a tour of their new Hitchhiker 5th wheel. We’ve talked about getting one so that was very interesting. I showed her our computer set-up. She kept saying she couldn’t believe how bright and airy our rig was and how well we had utilized the space. (puff-puff)
