Wells, ME

Ellsworth gave us a grand good-bye…blue skies and puffy clouds. Course it clouded up later. They say in New England, if you don’t like the weather just wait an hour…it’ll change! We drove I-95 the same way we came down and we were amazed at the color that is coming into the trees in just a week.

We drove to Wells along the coast. It’s close to the water and the prices reflect it! We paid $29…for the night, far more then we’ve been paying. It’s near Kennybunkport…where the rich folks play. We went down to the water. There was a little guy…18mo or so…toddling along the edge and every once in a while the water would come up high enough to get his feet. The water must have been freezing! They grow them tough here! This section of the coast looks interesting and we want to explore it a little more fully.

We are watching TV tonight…something we have seldom bothered with. Now I remember why! The stock market has plunged 155 points, there is talk of impeachment of the president, the world situation in a turmoil. It’s strange how easy it is to forget all of this when you are traveling. It’s a little world of its own.
