Indian Blanket

Next to Blue Bonnets…I love the wildflower called Indian Blanket best. That’s lucky for me because as the former disappears the latter is like the Energizer bunny…it just keeps on going!

I walked over to photograph some Longhorn steers and found I could get close if I didn’t look at them, except out of the corner of my eye. They must feel threatened if you stare.

The day was beautiful but the thunderclouds are building quickly. You can only send on the computer after the park office closes. By that time there is usually so much storm activity that we don’t want to plug into the phone line.

All the rain must be why this part of Texas is such a garden. I’ve never seen such a display of posies.

This is a hillside covered with all kinds of flowers…but mostly Indian Blanket. As I walked through…trying not to step on any flowers…dozens of butterflies scattered with each step.05_06_longhorn05_06_indian_blanket
