carving and burning

Today was busy. Rick took a caricature class from a different instructor. He’s enjoying how each one differs in their approach. And learning and absorbing from both kinds of techniques.

I did another wood-burning project. I just marvel at the skill of some of the people in the class. One lady is doing an owl and each feather is so detailed.7_12_wood_burning

The classes are being held in the Mining Museum and we are working deep inside caverns cut into the cliff side. This classroom is probably 150 feet in…but there are tunnels running much much deeper. Late afternoon I took a craft class and made a ‘lady bug’ wind chime. I painted mine in reverse…because I didn’t want as much black…hey I can march to a different drummer if I want! (Grin)
