Creede, Colorado

I was in a little panic yesterday (read screaming and pulling out my hair!) because they don’t have an E-mail modem here. I can do without TV and armloads of stuff that in years past I considered important…but I’m hooked on staying in contact with the people I care about! Rick, Mr. Smart Guy, drove to ANOTHER RV park and they let him use their hook-up. ( For a price…but it’s worth it) Now we can go over there a couple times a week and check in.

Went into town again so Rick could pick up a fishing license. Now he’s sitting outside the RV a carv’n and a talk’n with another wood carver. It’s a week until the classes start and he’s already having the time of his life!7_2_creedeco2

Creede was a famous mining town. The cliffs come right up to the down town. The fire station is built into the side of the mountain!7_2_creedeco1

This is a poem written about Creede in 1892

The cliffs of solid silver with wondrous wealth untold, And the beds of the running rivers are lined with purest gold.

While the world is filled with sorrow And hearts must break and bleed. It’s day all day in the daytime. And there is no night in Creede.

Cy Warman

Whatever the heck that means!
