Today we went to the Archuleta County Fair. Small towns have the BEST fairs. They do an incredible job of including the youngsters. This is 4-H country and it’s fun to watch the kids ‘do their thing’.
This girl just moved to Pagosa a year ago and she’s having a ball. Mighty proud of this young steer she raised. She was worried about him because it was so hot under the tent.
Wonderful crafts…from beautiful quilts to ‘scribbles’ in a tiny tot art contest. A lot of them had blue ribbons…that said “Blue ribbon award”. (Not first prize) Looks like they were handed out to almost everybody! What a nice thing for the youngsters!
They have several Alpaca ranches around here. What amazing animals. We touched the sheared ‘prime’ coat of one. It’s like cotton candy…It has no weight in your hand.
