Old Cemetary

Today we had our first mishap…a flat tire on the tow car. It was smoking pretty badly and, of course, we couldn’t see that. A rancher jumped in his pick-up and chased after us. He probably saved us from a major fire. That’s how many RVs burn up. Ahhh…Bless the kindness of strangers!

As it happened, the Bannock Cemetery was within sight and we crept in there to change the tire. Rick worked I walked! I wandered around and looked at all the old headstones. Amazing stories they tell. The ones that bothered me most had the little fences so carefully placed around them and the markers were weathered beyond recognition…lost in time. One headstone, symbol of an old grief, was placed by Susan and Robert for their son William. He died at 30 years old. (So many young people) It read…”This is a path that all must trod If they are to be at one with God.”

They must have found comfort in that thought. Their headstones rest beside his now…they all have all walked the path.
