Aguanga, CA

At last…we are on our way! Course “on our way” only got us as far as the Escapees Jojoba Hills Campground in Aguanga. It’s still close to Temecula…so we will have dinner with son Steve and family tomorrow. This is our ‘shakedown’ part of the trip and already we discovered Rick has forgotten his pin number for ATM’s! Not going to get far at that rate! We’ll sort it out tomorrow.

Jojoba is a wonderful place to stay. It’s a huge private campground with a BIG iron gate. It feels safe and unlike a commercial campground , the RV’s are quite far apart from one another. These are lots ‘owned’ by Escapees Club members. When they are not in residence they rent out their space to other members of the club. It’s beautiful with Manzanita covered hills, sunset included…type place. Pool, hot tubs, tennis courts, library, craft rooms, wood shop and billiard rooms. It’s landscaped beautifully…We’re feeling pampered.

We were talking tonight about the fact that our backyard in Hemet has never looked so lovely. It’s full of butterflies…maybe because the butterfly bush we planted last year is in full bloom! But…lovely as it is…it always looks the same. Tonight as we relaxed on our patio…our backyard was filled with rolling hills and cactus in bloom. There was an Egret fishing in a pond just down the hill and a baby bunny wary…and watching our every move. The breeze is cool and sweet…the only sounds are the calls of birds. Tonight we have been blessed with a “new backyard”…the first of many!
