Deer Lakes

The Farishs took us up to the Deer Lakes area to fish today. Abundant wildflowers and lush forests and a series of beaver ponds…each one calling the ‘fishermen’ on to the next.07_11_Joe

Joe has caught 15 or 16 fish and is waiting for Rick to come back from what ever pond he’s working, so we can move on down to the next batch. Rick found a fresh Mountain lion paw print…complete with claw imprints. This is true wilderness.

When everyone was done fishing we drove over Slum Gullion Pass into Lake City for lunch. There is a place there that makes mouthwatering burritos…It’s called the ‘Blue Iguana’.

When we got back…tired and happy…our next door neighbors and friends came over.

Annie, Sally, Bill and Thornton raise a glass to friendship! We have been blessed in the people we’ve met here.
