Treasure Box

It was a day of blue skies and fluffy clouds…much too pretty to stay home, so we took off for a drive to Joplin, MO. (And had a juicy Cajun Rib eye steak at Jim Bob’s…love those Southern names!) Now, when we see Joplin on a map, it isn’t just a name…it’s been added to all the other places and sights that swirl around in our minds.

We’ve seen Bar Harbor, Maine from the deck of a four-masted schooner The ship’s sails snapping as the wind caught them. Watched in awe, as 4th of July fireworks exploded color, in a cold and starry Colorado sky. We’ve heard jazz played on Bourbon Street and heard the golden voices of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City. We’ve felt the crunch of fall leaves, under our feet, in a Vermont woods and faced the fury of a lightning storm over the Grand Canyon. We’ve eaten home made pie out of an Amish kitchen. And ambling down a country road we’ve picked and eaten wild strawberries…warm from sun. And watched a buck drink from the edge of a moss covered pool. These and a thousand more sights and sounds and places and people fill a treasure box of memories.

We will never own jewels and fancy cars….But we are rich beyond measure.

What an incredible lifestyle this is….
