“A Suspicious Character”

We took one more day to explore San Antonio. We wandered all over ‘Market Square’. I’ve never seen that much Mexican merchandise outside of Mexico! There is music and fountains and color to delight the eye.

Over about three blocks from the Market Square, we found the famous shady Riverside Walk. You can buy a ticket for a boat ride and the boat will pick you up and drop you off at various spots. What a neat place to cool off and people watch.

I wanted to check out a store that carries handmade papers and I shopped inside for ‘a little bit’.

When I came out Rick had a disgruntled look on his face. “Do you know how long you were in that store”? “No”. “Long enough for someone to call the police because there was a suspicious character loitering”! (He was sitting in the car, under a shady tree) ” A cop stuck his head in the window and, in a gruff voice, said ‘What you doing here Partner?” Said it startled him out of a perfectly good nap!

I have no doubt that I will NEVER, NEVER be allowed to forget about today’s event. Although, frankly, I don’t know why I should be held responsible just because he looks so darn suspicious when he sleeps! (grin)

There was only one more thing I wanted to see before we left San Antonio, but the police business knocked it right out of my head. (How’s this for irony?) I FORGOT the Alamo!
