I learned that lesson years ago. I was 11 or 12 years old and visiting the rather primitive summer ranch of a school friend. During the evening I needed to take a ‘necessary’ so I took a stroll in the moonlight to an area that looked private enough for shy little me…and squatted down firmly on a cactus
To my eternal mortification…the family (who thought it was hilarious) …spent the evening taking turns pulling spines out of my wounded nether region!
I’ll leave it at this…my nickname for the rest of the visit was not ‘TenderFOOT’!
