Mt Rainier

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky when we woke up. We had been planning to leave but the chance to see Mt. Rainier free of its often-present cloud cover was just too much to resist.

The Rainier National Park is filled with high rocky, snow-capped mountains but Rainier its self is such a looming presence…it takes your breath away.

Sometimes you get a glimpse of something that is so fleeting it’s like a dream. That happened to me today…twice. There was a doe standing in white Daisies and purple Foxglove…ears forward and one foot lifted. She was as unreal and perfect as a lawn statue on a fine estate. The other moment…a doe drinking from the pool of a mossy waterfall. Images that can’t be captured except by the heart.

Rick and I went on up the road to Paradise and I FINALLY got to throw a snowball at him…… Unfortunately he has better aim!6_16_rick-snowball
