HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ME! There was a mother’s day card waiting for me when I got up. And after taking me for a walk in the forest…we trotted off to the Mall in Eureka. (I told Rick to bring along the three legged stool…cause I intended to milk the day for all it was worth! (Grin)

We shopped till even ‘I’ dropped. He bought me a Mrs. Field’s double dip chocolate cookie, a magazine on digital photography, and a zillion card making supplies. Then he took me for a ride in the rain, while we listened to some really wonderful bluegrass fiddle music and then fed me Chinese food! Now, I ask you…for not having a kiddo in sight…have I been pampered or what? Is he a prince among men or what? Yeeesssss he is!5_14_statue

Woodley Island has a very picturesque marina. We strolled around and breathed in the fresh air and took in the sights. There is a large copper statue of a fisherman, gathering in his nets, and a memorial to those lost to the sea. It reads “To those who were sustained by the sea…and also claimed by her”. And there are lists and lists of names.

We walked down to where the boats were docked. You can see some of the Victorian buildings in Eureka across the water.
