Trinidad, CA

This is one of the most beautiful areas we have ever visited. I wonder, in all our fast paced vacations, how often we raced right by here…never dreaming what was beyond the main road, or over the hill, or down that little road?

It’s funny how that pace of life has changed for us. We are learning to live life in ‘the slow lane’. It is the most incredible gift! The hours don’t pass so unnoticed. We savor tiny moments…and time now seems to carry us with a sweeter measured flow.

Eureka is a fascinating small town. There is a quaint old waterfront area and Victorian homes everywhere.

The green toned Carson mansion was built in 1885 by lumber magnate William Carson. It was a project designed to keep millworkers busy during a slow period in the industry.

The ‘Pink Lady’ is across the street from the Carson home. It has all the incredible details that make Victorian homes such a source of delight.
