Branson, MO

We ate lunch at a popular and crowded restaurant called ‘The Hard Luck Café’. The waiters and waitresses, in between serving, SING to you! They are waiting to be ‘discovered’ and whisk into one of the big production companies. Forty-three former employees have been…so they say…”Hope you don’t see us here next time!” There must be an over abundance of talent in these parts…cause there wasn’t a bad one in the batch.

One of the joys of travel is always the people we meet. We shared our table and a lot of laughter with two delightful ladies from Georgia…Francis and Marie. The ‘Johnny cracked corn’ chowder and corn bread tasted more authentic listening to the soft music of their sweet southern accents.

Here they are getting serenaded by a very handsome young waiter and loving every moment of it!

Someone else was also loving every minute of it, but of course, first there had to be a change in the personnel ! (Grin)

Rick is sitting outside right now, carving by lamp light. He just called me outside to show me the most brilliant golden harvest full moon.

The campground overlooks the whole city of Branson. The twinkling lights AND a Harvest moon make quite an unforgettable sight. Time to get my head out of the computer and soak up some cool night air and the beauty that surrounds us.

The fall festivals have started in the Ozarks. The craft places are decorated up for the season. There are incredible crafts in this area. Shop after shop…after shop full of them.

Paul Engler is a well-known woodcarver and Rick finally found his shop. AND picked up an enrollment form for a six day Woodcarving Rendezvous for next June! One of the instructors that will be teaching is Phil Bishop…a particular favorite of Rick’s.

THE OAKRIDGE BOYS. This was a toe tapp’n, hand clapp’n, foot stomp’n evening! These ol’ boys can sing up a storm! And we were right up front and enjoying every minute of it!

William Lee Golden…came down and shook hands with Rick and me. That’s really getting up close and personal with your fans. I do love this place!
