Today was ‘a music day’. We saw Glen Campbell and Andy Williams in the afternoon and Shoji Tabuchi in the evening. I loved the first two…they brought back wonderful memories. But Shoji…That man is a genius with a violin! The show is like a Broadway extravaganza…but all the production numbers and fog effects and lighting pale next to that man’s talent. Two and a half hours of pure entertainment. The last segment was dedicated to his son Jason that died several years ago and to those that had lost some one dear to them. The young couple seated in front of us were sobbing…I expect they too had lost a child. Shoji ‘spoke about his son and his voice was the violin tucked under his chin. Today grief spoke with an eloquence that took you where the human voice is unable to go……
