Rhythm and Blues

The second night we arrived in Tucson I woke with a heartbeat so hard and rapid it was shaking the motel bed. It was still thundering away in the morning so Rick took me to the Tucson Medical Center ER. They determined it was atrial flutter and admitted me to the cardiac unit and started me on medication to control the flutter and they wanted to do a procedure called an ablation on Monday (They use a laser to ‘zap’ the areas that are causing the flutter). During the night on Sunday I converted to a normal sinus rhythm on my own! How’s that for ‘under the wire’!

I’m so grateful for the excellent care I got in this hospital and the support and love and prayers from family and friends that felt so good in the scary times.

We are home now…tired and still shaky…but counting our blessings.
