This is a tiny place featuring critters native to California. It isn’t easy to photograph here because many of the exhibits are behind wire but what makes it special are the docents that bring out birds for a closer inspection.
We were lucky enough to meet two really great Docents…Hal and Carol. They were friendly and knowledgable and fun to be around. People like them and the wonderful critters they show you up close make the zoo come alive. I had to laugh when I noticed one of the pictures showed Carol with an owl that made her look like she’s wearing a mask. Since tomorrow is Halloween…that seems apropos…don’t you think? (grin)
