This valley at the foot of Wolf Creek Pass has a notorious past…as do many of the places of early pioneer days.
Before the road up over the Pass was even dreamed of…this beautiful, lush, mountain enclosed, grass filled valley was a fortress. It had an easily defensible entrance and became the PERFECT place to hold stolen livestock. Hard to imagine as we gaze over it on this quiet lazy afternoon…that once it held dangerous secrets.
All of our lives we are oblivious to the myriad of fascinating details that have happened just on the spot we now stand. The eternal land keeps its secrets but oh wouldn’t it be fun, just once in a while, to take a peek through the curtains of the past…?
