And some, like this civil war reenactor that was here for the rededication of a statue of a civil war hero that had been defaced, can enlighten us now!
He said that they had to get “special government approval for a ’21 gun salute’ because they are no longer given for anyone except the President of the United States.” Apparently the Vice President now gets 20 and so on down the line. I asked what a soldier of his rank would get…he just grinned and sang “So long it’s been good ta’ know ya”.
