Today we had our first medical problem while on the road. My left ankle was swelling for no apparent reason. Before my anklebone completely disappeared it seemed prudent to see a doctor…so we headed for the local E.R.
It gives a person pause when the doctor takes a look and says “Hummmm…that’s interesting…I wonder what could cause a thing like THAT!” (Fortunately the antibiotics made their own diagnosis and the swelling is already going down.)
When I asked about the cost of treatment….the nurse said ” I don’t know” (with a twinkle in her eye) “but I suggest that you start looking over things you can pawn!”
