Moving on…

moving_dayThe decision to move at our age was not made lightly. We have looked at homes in this little local golfing community for years…half playing at it. And then we walked into this home and it reached out and grabbed us and would NOT let us go.

Was it a wise move? I don’t know. It certainly was a scary one. It’s not easy to do this at our age but something told us both that if we didn’t take this chance we would always regret it. Down that little walk way you can see on the right is the most amazing view of trees and a pond and wildlife. I was sitting outside today and a flock of Cedar Wax Wings come and  drank from our birdbath…crowded side by side all around the edge with elegant little heads bobbing up and down, and a cloud of them overhead in a Blue Spruce tree, waiting their turn. It took my breath away. A Heron is nesting in a tree  nearby and a Red tailed Hawk fly by me in the dusk the other night…close enough to hear the rush of his wings!

We will not be able to travel as much as we have in the past so the touch of nature so near is like a balm to the soul…and we are grateful.
