We were moving…yet again! This time we were leaving Ohio to move to Yuciapa, California. Dad had gone on ahead to buy a house. We, including mom, had never set eyes on the place….not even a picture. I worried I would hate it and I was already missing my friends. But it turned out fine. Amazing how kids adapt.
My little sister Beth and I are checking out the pool here in one of those little ‘mom and pop’ motels that dotted Route 66. I remember we were hot and tired and ready for a little water play. Mom took the picture with an old Brownie camera.
