The Miracle of Light

For years I took photography lessons from a man by the name of John Kleinman. I remember one of the things he pounded into our heads was the fact that the time to get out and photograph is when everyone else is either still in bed or has their feet cocked up in front of a fireplace.

This morning I dragged my sleepy body out of my warm bed before light and dressed and slogged out to the car, crunching on the frosty grass. And to make matters worse…it was the ONLY day since we arrived that the sky was overcast. We went to the spot we’d picked out and waited…shivering and bored.

Just before I was about to give up and go and get some breakfast…the clouds parted just long enough for the sun to peek out and paint one of the most glorious scenes I’ve ever been privileged to see.

This one’s for you John…Thank you.10_11_reflection
