It was also the place where I had an unforgettable experience…one of those moments that are forever engraved on your soul.
In the evening, on our way back out of the park, we had stopped here again. I walked over to the pools, unaware I was now sharing them with a herd of Elk. In the near darkness, a bull Elk appeared right in front of me…the mist swirling around him. And with his huge antlers silhouetted against the twilight sky he bulged his primitive cry…again and again.
I still get cold chills thinking of the power and the beauty of that moment.
