LA Zoo

I remember my mother and father taking me to the LA Zoo when I was a tiny child.

The zoo wasn’t much in those days. The natural habitats that abound now were nonexistent. Those were the days of bored animals…pacing small concrete cages. And of abnormal behavior brought on by boredom. One old gray backed gorilla used to wait with great stealth and patience until an unsuspecting person walked near his cage and then he’d ‘let fly’ the handful of feces that he had hidden in his hand. The old boy had a remarkable aim!

Today the LA Zoo is a peaceful place to spend a day. It’s cool green paths led you on and the calls of exotic animals and birds fill the air.
