West Yellowstone, MT. Lion’s Head RV Park

Yellowstone National Park is a wonder! We saw only a fraction of it today but the opportunity to view wildlife is amazing.

We got caught in another Bison crossing. Cars were stopped in the middle of the road while the Bison wove their way through the cars. This young bull was just outside my window. He looked fat and glossy ready for the winter.9_13_buffalo

I was photographing a bull Elk, along side a river, suddenly there was a commotion on the water and a flock of ducks took to the air in a burst of flight. The reason,a coyote was stalking prey by the edge of the river. This entire scene in one viewfinder was mind boggling. The place is TEEMING with animals!

Further on we saw a lone Bison drinking at the river’s edge. He was backlit by the sun. When he raised his head, long streams of water ran from his mouth and sparkled in the light. God’s work is marvelous to behold!
