Kalispel, MT Mountain HI Campground

It was cloudy when we woke up this morning but we decided to head up to Glacier National Park anyway. It was overcast and rained on us for part of the day…and some of the higher peaks were hidden in the rain clouds….

But it was awesome! Nothing I’ve seen prepared me for the reality. It looks like pictures I’ve seen of the Alps.

There are wildflowers hanging off of cliffs, growing in meadows and lining the road. Every little nook and cranny that has a piece of earth is in bloom. Because of the high snow pack this year…there are waterfalls all over the place. Not just ones falling hundreds and hundreds of feet…but little cascades running down the cliffs beside the road as well.

No photograph can capture the beauty…it’s been painted on too magnificent a canvas!

We found a great little cafe, called Two Sisters, up in the Glacier high country. It was miles from anything. It was packed…a little ‘hole in the wall’ that you have to discover on your own. And apparently we weren’t the only ones to discover it!On the way back home we passed a miniature golf place that had some great ‘wildlife’ to photograph. So we went in there and had a ball…made fools of ourselves while the owner…just laughed and shook her head!
