My head is buzzing with the new people we are meeting and the information that we are absorbing. I took a class on writing…journal and letter writing. The next class was called ” Don’t retire—Rewire!” The couple that taught it are fantastic. His name is Sandy McGregor…and hers Marilyn Abraham. They lived and worked in New York City at the two of the biggest publishing houses in the United States. They had an apartment in Manhattan, New York…a lake front property for the week-ends. They were living the ‘high style’ and hating it…burned out from the pressure…He said “in New York “No one looks another person in the face when you walk by them.” And they gave it all up to “Go on the Road”. They told how to face our fears and make life changing decisions…They sound like they are having the time of their lives…and have never looked back…….
This evening the college had a Salmon Bar-b-Que. dinner with all the fixings for us. It’s cooled down and the weather is perfect. The Salmon was cooking over apple wood fires. You could smell it clear across the campus. They had a live band…that fiddled up a storm. We talked and talked and talked…Met some really great folks.
We sat out and read until 9:00pm…it was still light when I came in. Folks kept stopping by. Charlotte (she’s from MO and has such a wonderful southern accent. (I just love to listen to her) stopped by and introduced her husband. He’s an avid fisherman so he and Rick have something in common. What a nice couple.
