San Juan Bautista, CA

What beautiful countryside in this area. Oak covered rolling hills. We stopped at the Mission San Miguel Archangel. It’s a little jewel of a mission. It was founded in 1797 and it looks much as it did then…it’s a step back in time. I sat alone in the church and listened to Gregorian chats. Such a sense of peace and quietness came over me.

We are staying at the Mission Farm RV park in San Juan Bautista. Very quaint…lots of old farm implements scattered around. Steve and Adriane have a favorite Mexican restaurant called Jardine’s here in town that we ate at tonight. We sat outside in the courtyard. There are trees, red tiles, Mexican music AND a chicken running around on the patio by our feet. I tried to tell her there was chicken on the menu, but she wasn’t paying attention. Pollo…your days are numbered!

Finally I beat Rick at a game of Monopoly on the computer. It’s about time! Joy is a hotel on Park Place and Boardwalk BOTH!
