We went into Rochester today. Rick wanted to see if he could get on the mailing list for class reunions. Tried the school, SPALDING HIGH SCHOOL…no luck. When he stepped inside the front door the auditorium was all lit up and kids going in…Just like all those years ago when he remembers walking in, class by class. A blast from the past! The newspaper will look up a contact when their deadline is over.
Took Mary out for lunch. Saw Shelly and her new husband Michael. He seems very nice. (And cute to boot! ) We went over to Shelly’s house to pick up some old photos to copy. The kids took us into their bedrooms to show us their treasures…Brady collects baseball stuff and Kara…beanie babies. She has some valuable ones she says. The kids are sweet. They have just moved into a new Mobile home…big and bright. There is a red maple in the front that Shelly planted…she calls him ‘ Fred ‘and says he nearly died…but she talked him out of it! (grin)
We took the pictures to Staples to be color copied. I was tickled to get them…we don’t have many from Rick’s mom’s side of the family. Shelly had a couple that were especially good, including a tin type of Alden Day…Rick’s grandfather.
