Paula and the girls brought us up to SILVER LAKE today…a little piece of heaven! This is very close to where the movie “Golden Pond” was filmed. The cabin even reminds me of the one in the movie. It is right on the water…the most beautiful, idyllic, peaceful place. What a gift to be able to spend a week here.
We had lunch at the “Smoke House”. They cook the meat outside on a grill. Oh man! Then we just “sank” into this place. We played “I spy with my little eye” with the kids. We’ve both fallen in love with these sweet youngsters. Krista and I had a staring contest. OK so I lost…I held out for quite a while! They left about 4 o’clock…despite the girls saying they…DIDN’T want to go to school tomorrow…they wanted to stay here! They’ll be back next Sat.
There is a boat dock…and a boat. They offered the use of it, but I think we’ll stick with the canoe. Rick has already been out paddling on the lake.
