Alexandria ‘Fishing’

‘Travel Day’

The countryside here doesn’t appear to have as much standing water as the southern part of the state but it never seems far away. We are parked next to a lake tonight. It’s warming up and the humidity presses on you in this steamy wet green place. It’s impossible to dry off after a shower…you just give it up for a lost cause and put your clothes on!

‘Cooling off’

This town has a Hobby Lobby…I do love their great nick-knacks and craft selections. When we’d sucked all the cool air out of there…we spent the rest of the afternoon strolling through the mall and then going to the movie “Return of the Mummy”! It’s a lot funnier then it is spooky. A beat the heat day!

 May 20

Rick found out a nice thing today. While in Texas, it costs a non resident $20 a day to fish–in Louisiana, if you are over 60 years of age, resident or non resident, it’s FREE! Guess who went fishing? Guess who caught fish?

This is such a nice way to travel…just poking along…getting a feel for a place before moving on. And heaven knows…in this part of the country nothing moves faster then a mosey! This rooster would like to mosey…no room!

‘Mud’

We are parked in what will someday be a RV park…right now it’s a muddy field, a fact that DID NOT come up in the conversation when we called for reservations!
