It’s amazing how much of I-10 is up on pilings…just like a bridge. This is such a green place, with bayous and swamps and standing water everywhere.
There was a bright red Cardinal sitting on a branch outside our window this morning. The first one I’ve ever seen!
The floor of the swamp is green algae covered water. You wouldn’t get far walking down into that! Between the sharp bits of wood jutting up out of the water like daggers and the occasional alligator!
