Fredericksburg, Texas

You could spend literally hours going in and out of the shops in Fredericksburg. There is the usual tourist junk but a lot more is one of a kind neat stuff! The German influence is everywhere. And the food reflects that.

We stopped for lunch at a little restaurant that had outdoor seating. The chairs wobbled on the bricks, the trees showered us with little fuzzy balls that stuck to our hair like Christmas ornaments and when the breeze was just right, the fountain we were sitting beside, gifted us with a cool mist. And singing his heart out was William Ballew, from the “Damn Good Texas Band”. Ah, Texas and it’s music…gets me every time. There were CD’s for sale in a little pile beside him. He was GOOD and I couldn’t resist buying one. At least 98% was because the man can sing! And maybe a tiny 2% because he had eyes as blue as the Texas sky.
