Orange Empire Railway Museum Perris, CA

In this ‘throw away’ society a place exists that still holds on to a rare piece of Americana…the train. They rebuild and restore any number of old machines that need a track to run. The mournful sound of a steam engine whistle echoes through the grounds and the call of “All aboard!”

Bill is a volunteer, one of many, that are restoring and bringing back to glory the aging pieces of what were once the great machines of western expansion. He remembers when he was a child, building model trains with his father. Nowadays the ‘models’ are just a tad larger!04_16_rick_train

If these folks didn’t care…a piece of American history would be lost to us all.04_16_bill
