Durango, Colorado Cottenwood RV Park

The tail end of a thunderstorm was our welcome to Durango. And it brought with it the most incredible smell. Cool and spicy…I think a combination of Pine and Juniper. Whatever it was I couldn’t get enough of it. Rick teased me because I had my head stuck out the car window sniffing like a dog! (Grin)

This sure is a pretty little town. We spent the afternoon checking it out. I found a wonderful bookstore and the salesperson actually asked me what I liked to read and recommended authors. The ‘Patriot’ with Mel Gibson was on at the Gaslight theater so we took that in and then we walked around the downtown in the evening. It’s very quaint and full of unusual stores. By then we were hungry and dug in at a little bar and grill in the basement of a building. I guess they thought they were feeding cowboys so we had plenty to take home for lunch tomorrow!
