Travel time

June 21, 2000…..Spokane, WA

The Honda needed routine service so Rick dropped me off for what he told me would be a couple of hours at the mall and took it in. Four hours later he picked me up! The brakes, it seems, needed new pads. I’m now WELL acquainted with the mall. (Smile)

Skies are just so pretty here. I never tire of looking at the cloud patterns. We took a drive up in the hills overlooking Spokane this evening. There were “Mare’s tail” clouds. Rick tells me that means a change in the weather.

We drove by field after field of hay being harvested. That smell…that incredible smell!

June 22, 2000…..St. Regis, Montana Campground St. Regis

The plan was to drive on into Missoula but we weren’t quite ready for ‘big city’ life. We’d stayed at this park last year and when we saw the sign…we both remembered the cherries they grow here. Sure enough the same little truck on the same little corner with a “Cherries for Sale” sign. These are so perfectly ripe they just explode in your mouth, with a sweet tart burst. Yum!

The mountain road we’re traveling has been following the prettiest clear river for a long way. After we got settled Rick felt the urge to go and check out the fish population. He caught some nice fat Brook Trout.

June 23, 2000…..Missoula, MT

Rick picked up a new cable for the printer…a tech here at Best Buy seems to think that’s our printer problem. The wind is picking up tonight and now that we have dropped down out of the high mountains it’s warmer.
