Road trip

Today was a crisp bright Indian summer day. We decided to check out some of the surrounding countryside. Bright and early we headed for Michigan. Not too far across the state line is the ‘largest antique mall’ in the state. We picked up a few ‘treasures’ and continued on our way.

I love just meandering along country roads…going in and out of little towns whose names I don’t know and probably will never pass by again. Seeing tree lined streets and little girls in red plaid skirts and white knee sox…screaming with laughter. The old barns, the golden fields. The white farm houses with wrap around porches and tires swinging on ancient Oaks…the purple flowers along the road, wagons piled with pumpkins for sale, the leaning mailboxes and the old men raking leaves.9_29_farmhouse
