On the weekends there are so many fall activities and festivals and special events we are having trouble choosing between them. This turned out to be a great choice!
In Warsaw every year they have a wonderfully staged living history re-enactment of the Revolutionary War period. There were military battles, with booming cannons and musket fire. The encampment was huge and the attention to detail unbelievable! There was the rat a tat tat of drums…calling the soldiers to battle and a haze in the air from the muskets. The day was crisp and cool. What a fun way to have history come alive before your eyes!
The children were just a joy to watch. They entered right into the time period. This lady was telling a couple of them a story and she was so good that I was as enthralled as the kids!
An Officer calls out to one of his men.
Dozens of campfires…delicious smells in every direction!
