In and out of camp

It’s funny how time blends here. We suddenly realized that we were leaving on Labor Day weekend! So we will hang around a bit longer…Ah, the sacrifice…the sacrifice! (grin)

Bill hadn’t ever been to Durango so we all went in for the day. Ate Pizza and talked and walked around town and spent a lot of time in a used bookstore. They are avid readers and I came away with a LONG list of ‘must read’ authors. Last hugs and they took off to make it over the Pass before nightfall. They are going to winter in Desert Hot Springs so we made plans to get together in October.

It rained a soft rain all night and it’s still at it. Usually it’s a glorious day with an afternoon thundershower. It feels so cozy in here listening to the rat-tat of the rain on the roof. I went over to the Lodge with Rick while he sent on the computer. Gayle, Eugenia, and Bridgett were SCRAPBOOKING! Man, I wish I had my stuff here. They are doing really high quality work.

The cowboys were out yesterday riding hard and yoo-hooing through the forest. Rick thinks they are they were trying to sensitize the deer on the ranch to humans because Bow hunting season is about to start. It doesn’t bear thinking about because the deer are so tame here…wish I’d never seen Bambi.

We drove over to Echo Reservoir this afternoon. Several of the fellows caught a bunch of fish here today. Rick’s getting that gleam in his eye again.
