Creede Co

We were invited to the Mountain View Park in Creede (old home week) for supper. They were serving Elk chili and cornbread. It was such a nice cool misty day for that. AND the entertainment were our friends the Middletons. They were hilarious and got a standing ovation at the end. Or as Bill told us later ” Gosh, I didn’t expect a standing ovulation!”

Well, tonight was a first! There was another pot luck get-together. And on the menu was…BEAR! For those of you out there that don’t have a steady diet of bear…it tastes somewhat like pork. Among the other ‘table groaning’ offerings was a freezer of fresh home made peach ice cream!

There was a huge bonfire and we sat and talked for hours and watched the sparks climb up into the night sky and listened to the coyotes howling. This is a great bunch of folks. Most of them have known each other for years and years. They are making a real effort to bring us into the group and make us welcome…And that’s just how we feel!

Buck, the fellow stirring the fire has been coming here for 26 years.
