The National ‘Cowboy Hall of Fame’ is in Oklahoma City. What a treasure! We spent hours wandering this huge 220,000 foot museum. They have artists like Charles M. Russell and Frederic Remington and hundreds more brilliant artists and rare western artifacts by the thousands.
There is a ‘recreation’ of an old time cowboy town at night. As you walk around you can look in the windows where the scenes are so perfect that it feels like someone has just stepped out of the room. The sounds of bar room music and faint voices outside the bar and the sweet sound of gospel singing drifts outside the church as you stroll by. What skill went into the work of this creation that lets your imagination play!
This huge stature of “The End of the Trail” by James Earle Fraser 1915…greets you as you enter the museum.
