The Mission Inn

The historic Mission Inn located in Riverside, California has played a large part in my life. From the time we moved to Riverside in 1971, I have loved this venerable old jewel and have spent countless hours there enjoying it’s ambiance, it’s food, and the treasures that await around each corner. I’ve photographed there as an awe struck visitor and then as a student and later as a professional photographer I shot weddings in the beautiful St. Cecilia Chapel.

The Inn occupies an entire city block in downtown Riverside. In 1902 Frank Miller began to build the Inn and over the years it has become internationally known. Filled with fantastic art collected from all over the world, it is a truly amazing place.

We were there the other day with our dear friends Bill and Sally Middleton who were visiting us from Tucson, AZ and I ‘ll share a few pictures I took as we strolled down memory Lane.

The Mission Inn is filled with bells of all size and description. These grace the entry.

In the catacombs there are many items no longer on display.
