The air is crisp and cool now …with a bite to it. And walking home from the campfire last night I could see my breath puff white in the bright moonlight. Autumn is upon us…

I wonder why I am so drawn to windows? I guess I’m always curious about what worlds exist behind the curtain…

One of the neatest things about this part of the country are the back roads. You can drive for miles and never see another soul…just beauty everywhere you look!

These two are NOT friends but they both froze there for a second out of plain ol’ surprise at finding each other!

Much of Colorado history is tied up in the rip snortin’ wild west days of mining. This old mine on Highway 550 stands as a mute reminder of those rich days.

Even in the destruction of nature…the beauty of pattern appears.

Our friend Durwood Smith found a world class mushroom up here near the ranch. It weighed in at over four pounds. A lot of folks gather and cook mushrooms here…but this is something really special!  

We took a little drive this afternoon on East Fork Rd. I couldn’t help but marvel at the solitude we found…on a Labor Day Holiday! Well, there WERE two deer in the meadow…
