Today we hiked along the headwaters of the great Mackenzie River, listened to the roar of falls, watched the turbulent waters and drank in the sun warmed scent of pine. The soft mist from the falls felt like a benediction…

We had heard about these small sweet Oregon strawberries with the short growing season…but they are better than advertised!   These babies don’t need sugar…just napkins to mop up the sweet juice running down my chin.

We spent the day finishing up chores…a couple more days and we will hit the road again. This is the first time I’ve felt reluctant to get going…this area is just so pretty. But..
